About the Division/Dept
The Retail Distribution Division is responsible for the growth of the consumer business across multiple channels including Bancassurance, Intermediaries, Direct channels, and Partnerships. It’s also responsible for delivering service excellence for all UOI customers and increasing market awareness of UOI to achieve consumer trust and recognition.
Job Purpose
The role is responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the intermediary distribution team, ensuring seamless execution of sales initiatives, intermediary engagement, campaign rollouts, and business operations. This role bridges internal functions and external partners to drive business growth and improve intermediary experience.
Main Responsibilities
1. Intermediary & Channel Support
- Serve as the key point of contact for agents, brokers, and distribution partners regarding business queries and product clarification
- Subject matter expert for the agent portal operations and processes
- Coordinate onboarding of new intermediaries including registration, training and portal access
- Provide support in the coordination of intermediary training, workshops, and engagement activities
- Deliver excellent service as the face of UOI, ensuring all enquiries are addressed with the intermediaries in mind and ensuring our intermediaries love us
2. Business Operations & Process Management
- Oversee day-to-day operational support for general insurance business lines
- Identify and resolve issues impacting commission, quotation, issuance, policy servicing and claims workflows
- Support automation and digitization initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual dependencies
- Support with managing distribution-related contracts and agreements
- Coordinate UAT for system enhancements or new product rollouts
3. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Track and report on policy sales, renewals, and other relevant metrics
- Prepare and maintain reports, including sales performance, campaign results, intermediary feedback, and other operational metrics
- Track and report intermediaries’ training hours, renewals and other regulatory requirements
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
4. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (e.g. IT, sales, claims, compliance, underwriting, project team) to ensure alignment and smooth execution of initiatives
- Support with any additional requests as requested by Manager, HOD or CEO
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Coordinate with internal compliance team to ensure adherence to regulatory and company compliance standards in all business processes
- Support in handling regulatory or partner audits related to general insurance business
Requirements
- Proactive, organized, and hands-on with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong knowledge of general insurance products and operational processes
- Excellent problem solving and project coordination skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with compliance and industry regulations is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting tools
Education and Experience
- Diploma in business administration, finance or related field (preferred)
- Min. 3 years of experience in general insurance with exposure to operations, intermediary support or distribution management
- Certificate in General Insurance
