Job Description
Reporting to the Site HR Director, the HR Manager will be a trusted partner to the business, helping to shape our culture, support our business strategies and provides HR consulting to the business. He/She will leverage best-in-class HR practices to continually construct, deliver and support programs that establish AbbVie as an employer of choice and will be responsible for delivering and coordinating human resource activities and initiatives for assigned groups. He/She will support the leaders to drive the business strategies, culture change, define organizational needs, determine the training and development needs and strategy, determine hiring needs, resolve employee issues, and contribute to the achievement of the overall business objectives. This individual must possess the ability to quickly grasp the business objectives and strategies of multiple groups and leverage human resources capabilities to support the achievement of those objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop & implement HR strategies, needs assessments and resulting HR solutions to meet organizational needs of the business.
- Ensure alignment of HR processes with strategic and operating goals.
- Establishes, builds, and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from all Practice Areas and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs; includes relationship management, leadership, HR roles; responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.
- Support the implementation of the business vision and strategies.
- Develop proposals and recommendations to resolve strategically important issues affecting a business segment.
- Establish strong working relationship with managers and employees to provide quality consultation and advice resulting in understanding and application of sound HR practices.
- Partners the business in the identification and management of high potential talent, and the implementation of succession plans.
- Consult with business and/or functional leaders in areas such as organizational assessment, succession planning, organizational structure, workforce planning, and change management to strengthen overall organizational capability.
- Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations in line with local culture and the business and legal environment.
- Drive employee engagement and satisfaction through promotion of a positive company culture while balancing employee concerns with all levels of company goals.
- Interpret employee engagement data for assigned groups. Partner with groups to enable them to drive their own action plans related to improving employee engagement.
- Assist managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee/departmental training needs and encouragement of employees to continuously develop their skills in their field of work.
- Well verse with relevant employment laws and other human resources compliance issues.
- Participate and/or lead HR projects focused on continuous improvement of core programs and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related studies. Post graduate qualification in Human Resources is a plus
- An excellent communicator who aligns interests among various stakeholders to promote a cooperative and collaborative work environment
- Minimum 10 – 12 years’ relevant experience and with some exposure to manufacturing environment
- Good technical knowledge of labour laws, management and HR functions
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of HRIS
- Strong ability to build solid relationships with the business and provide a “collaborative” approach to partnering with line management
- A team player who is open, flexible, accountable and effective
- A service excellence mindset and is passionate about addressing organizational and employees' needs and issues.
