Responsibilities:
- Ensure financial accounts are properly drawn up in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act and other relevant regulations (the Charities Act and Regulations) and Financial Reporting Standards in Singapore.
- Provide periodic financial status updates to the CEO, Finance Committee and the Board.
- Support the Audit, Finance, and Investment Committees in preparing meeting materials and following up on action items discussed during the meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Charity Code of Governance and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to Commissioner of Charities, IRAS, NCSS and other governing bodies.
- Develop systems, put in place and continually monitor processes, policies and procedures to ensure accountability and transparency, financial prudence, timely reporting and good governance practices.
- Liaise with internal and external auditor to facilitate the audit process.
- Act as ERM (risk) champion to facilitate risk assessment, monitor and provide periodic updates of risk management status.
Requirements:
1. Academic qualifications: Degree in Accountancy.
2. Skills set:
- Experience with Microsoft NAV, SAGE CRM and digital payment platforms would be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Software.
- Knowledge of charity governance and regulatory requirements would be an advantage.
3. Type of management skill set (if applicable):
- Experience in managing a team and working across teams.
- Good communications and problem-solving skills.
4. Types of experience needed: At least 3 years’ experience in managerial role.
5. Work experience in social service organisation would be an advantage.
6. Personality and key attributes:
- Detailed and meticulous, with ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Independent and a self-starter.
- Dependable and trust-worthy.
