Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design (2D/3D) for marine projects and guide section members throughout project phases.
- Assist the Project Section Lead in daily operations and team coordination.
- Execute mechanical tasks ensuring adherence to quality and timeline targets.
- Advise on best practices, design approaches, and compliance standards.
- Stay informed on latest marine regulations, products, and standards.
- Track project deliverables such as schedule, man-hours, and object quantities.
- Work collaboratively with the team and contribute to overall project success.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, drafters, and assistant engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during design and execution phases.
- Prepare, review, and approve piping/machinery design drawings, specifications, and vendor documents.
- Support production by preparing 3D models and fabrication-related drawings.
- Attend internal and client meetings, reporting technical progress and updates.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including shipyards, vendors, and consultants.
- Responsible for delivering design outputs for newbuilds, retrofits, conversions, and repair projects.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in marine mechanical/piping design.
- 2+ years in a senior or lead engineering capacity.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, AVEVA, and MS Office.
- Knowledge of marine class and statutory standards.
- Strong in mechanical/piping/HVAC systems.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
