JOB DESCRIPTION
- Interprets and understands contract documents and scope of work, including GTD and SOW.
- Ensures compliance with classification society rules and requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, etc.).
- Develops and updates piping specifications in line with project standards.
- Reviews and interprets P&IDs, equipment specifications, and other piping-related documentation.
- Provides advice and guidance to piping designers based on analysis results.
- Analyzes calculation outputs and prepare detailed reports for client approvals.
- Conducts on-site inspections during vessel onboarding to verify as-built conditions.
- Prepares pipe stress philosophies and critical line lists.
- Builds and maintains Caesar II models for pipe stress analysis, ensuring all inputs comply with project specifications.
- Performs comprehensive stress analyses including stress, deflection, equipment nozzle, flange, fatigue, and blast case checks (when applicable).
- Identifies and recommends solutions to address any stress analysis failures.
- Optimizes support loads to ensure safe and efficient pipe support design.
- Generates load restraint summaries for pipe support modelers and prepare stress isometrics or markups.
- Addresses and resolves owner comments related to pipe stress analyses promptly.
- Issues and reviews pipe stress analysis reports, including those from external Engineering Design Houses.
- Performs trunnion calculations and update Caesar II models based on feedback from modellers and site inspections.
- Verifies the suitability of primary pipe supports (rest, guide, hold-down, and line stopper types) based on analysis results.
- Conducts visual inspections and load calculations for non-critical lines.
- Performs equipment checks, including compressors and expansion joints, within stress analyses.
- Applies expertise in the use of spring hangers in pipe stress analysis.
- Works independently or with minimal supervision to perform pipe stress-related tasks effectively.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in piping engineering or related roles involving similar responsibilities.
Hands-on experience with Offshore and Shipyard projects, including rig building and shipbuilding activities.
Prior involvement in FPSO projects, with exposure to both topsides and marine aspects.
