Job Summary:
The Senior Resident Architect (SRA) will be stationed full-time on-site and will assist the Qualified Person (Architect) in supervising architectural works to ensure that the construction complies with approved plans, architectural specifications, authority requirements, and quality standards. The SRA will monitor and coordinate the implementation of architectural works, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and design intent throughout the project duration. The SRA shall coordinate with the Project Manager, Consultant Team, and Client's Representative as necessary, and report directly to the Qualified Person (Architect) [QP(Arch)].
Responsibilities:
Construction Oversight:
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved architectural designs and specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality of construction work.
- Verify that materials and workmanship comply with project standards and codes.
Site Coordination & Interface Management:
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers (REs), Resident Technical Officers (RTOs), consultants, and contractors on site matters and resolve architectural-related issues.
- Monitor the integration and interfacing of architectural works with structural and M&E systems.
- Attend site coordination, technical, and safety meetings.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between the architectural design team and construction personnel.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve design-related issues and ensure project goals are met.
Quality Control:
- Enforce quality control procedures to uphold design integrity and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Review and approve architectural shop drawings, mock-ups, material samples, and other submittals to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Inspect on-site architectural works, finishes, and detailing for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify non-conformities or defects and recommend corrective actions to the contractor.
- Ensure architectural work execution matches approved detailing and aesthetic requirements.
Problem Resolution:
- Identify and address any design or construction-related challenges that may arise during the building process.
- Work closely with the project team to develop solutions that align with the project's objectives.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of site activities, including changes, approvals, and any deviations from the original design.
- Prepare reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date site records, inspection logs, and photographic documentation.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports to the QP(Arch) and project team on progress, issues, and quality concerns.
- Support the preparation and verification of architectural as-built drawings.
Compliance and Codes:
- Ensure that construction activities adhere to building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant legal requirements and in accordance with the Building Control Act, Singapore Building Codes, BCA regulations, and other relevant authorities (e.g., URA, NEA, SCDF).
- Assist the QP(Arch) in ensuring proper documentation and compliance with statutory inspections and submissions.
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
- Work with the project team to ensure safe construction practices for architectural works.
- Monitor that site practices for architectural works are in line with HSE requirements.
Qualifications & Requirement:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Architecture from a recognised institution
- Professional Architectural License - registered with the Board of Architects (BOA), Singapore, or equivalent qualifications approved by the authorities.
- Registered Resident Architect (RA) with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) under the Accredited Site Supervisor Scheme, as applicable.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant site supervision experience, preferably in construction administration of building or infrastructure projects in Singapore.
- Familiar with Singapore building codes, regulations, and submission procedures (e.g., BCA, URA, SCDF).
- Familiarity with electronic site supervision platforms such as CORENET and other digital submission systems is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building systems.
- Ability to interpret and explain complex architectural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
