Job Description:
We are inviting experienced professionals to apply for the role of Senior Welding Inspector to lead and supervise critical welding inspection activities across various industrial projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring welding quality compliance and mentoring junior inspectors while working closely with QA/QC teams, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform advanced welding inspections (pre-weld, in-process, post-weld) in accordance with WPS, PQR, and relevant international standards
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and inspection requirements
- Ensure strict compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, ISO 5817, and project specifications
- Evaluate and verify welder qualifications (WPQ) and oversee WPS approval processes
- Supervise NDT operations and interpret results for PT, MT, UT, and RT
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and lead root cause analysis efforts
- Maintain accurate and traceable welding inspection documentation
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Welding Inspectors and QA personnel
- Participate in audits, client meetings, and final handover documentation reviews
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering
- Certified in CSWIP 3.2 or AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in welding inspection with team leadership exposure
- Strong understanding of international welding standards and NDT integration
- Excellent analytical, communication, and technical reporting skills
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO 9001 systems is an advantage
