The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.
The IT Infrastructure Department under Technology ensures the resilience, security, and high-performance of BCS’ technology infrastructure across various functions of service monitoring, incident management, and technical support. The team ensures seamless operation, maintenance, and strategic growth of core infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, middleware, and databases.
The Storage Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and delivering the storage infrastructure solutions to BCS. The incumbent will need to have a good understanding of the business strategy and competitive landscape and deep dive into complex problems.
- Design and Architecture : Define, design, and implement enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage, cloud storage).
- Administration and Operations : Manage day-to-day storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Data Protection: Oversee backup, replication, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies.
- Automation and Optimization : Implement automation scripts and processes to improve storage efficiency and reliability.
- Incident and Problem Management : Lead troubleshooting for storage-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Security and Compliance : Maintain storage systems in line with security standards, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Collaboration: Work with infrastructure, database, virtualization, and application teams to support business requirements.
- Vendor and Technology Management : Evaluate and manage relationships with storage vendors and recommend upgrades or new technologies.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation for storage configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Leadership : Mentor junior engineers, assign tasks, and provide technical direction for projects and operations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of IT experience in administering Enterprise Storage (Hitachi Dell EMC, Networker) design, deployment and operations in a financial institution or MNC
Skills and Knowledge
- Good experience in enterprise backup solutions design and operations
- In-depth knowledge of security, risk, and compliance frameworks, particularly within the financial services industry
- Experience in bash, Powershell and other scripting for operational efficiency
- Experience in managing day-to-day operations of Enterprise IT infrastructure including the change management process, risk and impact assessment
- Experience in performing VM migration on databases like Oracle, MySQL, and MSSQL would be advantageous
- Ability to direct project design and planning activities for complex or large scale network infrastructure development projects
- Experience in dealing with vendors on technology and services
- Excellent ability to communicate technical and strategic information effectively across all organisational levels, fostering collaboration and alignment
