What You Will Do
Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment associated with Chemical Stripping and Cleaning, Abrasive Blasting, Thermal Treatment (Furnaces), Coating Application, and/or Effluent Treatment Plant System.
Chemical Stripping and cleaning
A process that uses acid or alkaline solutions to remove coatings, oxide, contaminants and corrosion from aerospace components.
Strict process control of temperature, chemical concentration, dwell time and safety standards
Equipment: Immersion tanks, agitation systems, fume extraction hoods, chemical containment infrastructure and rinse tanks.
Abrasive Blasting
A process that uses abrasive media to clean surfaces, remove corrosion and provide a uniform surface roughness to enhance the adhesion of subsequent processes.
Equipment: Blasting cabinets/rooms with dust collectors
Thermal Treatment (Furnaces)
A process that uses high heat in controlled environment to improve the hardness, strength or oxidation resistance on aerospace components.
Equipment: Furnaces and Ovens
Coating Application
A process that provides corrosion resistance, wear protection and thermal barriers to aerospace components through application of coating systems.
Strict process controls on temperature, coating thickness, adhesion and microstructure evaluation
Equipment: Spray booths with robotic arms or movement mechanism
Effluent Treatment Plant
A specialized system designed to treat industrial wastewater (effluent) generated during aerospace processes before they are discharged or reused. This effluent can contain hazardous chemicals, heavy metals, oils, solvents and other pollutants.
Strict process requirements to meet government environmental regulations
Opportunity to be train and operate manufacturing technologies, automated systems, digital monitoring tools and aerospace-certified special processes.
Responsible for production output and quality, safety and compliance of processes performed.
Participate in the EH&S programs and takes personal responsibility to ensure safety adherence.
Support the continuous improvement programs, CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) activities and additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
