Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers (RHEL).
- Manage, provision and support VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Implement and maintain system security, patching, and compliance in line with CIS benchmarks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues, including application-to-database connectivity problems.
- File system and storage management, Manage disk partitioning and logical volume management (LVM), including resizing and splitting mount points.
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) or configuration management tools.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures for Unix and VMware systems.
- Collaborate with application teams to support deployments, upgrades, and system migrations.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, etc.).
- Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
- Linux Administration Certification (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+).
