Welder and Flame Cutter

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate oxy-acetylene torches or flame cutting equipment to cut, shape, and weld metal materials.
• Set up and adjust equipment and tools, ensuring all parts and materials are in place for safe operation.
• Inspect materials for defects before cutting or welding and ensure they meet the specifications and quality standards.
• Follow blueprints, technical drawings, or work orders to complete tasks according to specifications.
• Use roper safety procedures, including wearing protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, helmets, and fire-resistant clothing.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding and cutting equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Measure and mark materials to ensure proper cuts and alignments.
• Assist with the preparation of materials, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning.
• Record work progress, including quantities of materials cut or welded.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Requirement:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant certification or training in welding, flame cutting, or metalworking.
• Proven experience as a welder or flame cutter, ideally with experience in oxy-acetylene cutting, plasma cutting, or welding.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for working with hazardous tools and materials.

Skills:

• Proficient in the use of oxy-acetylene torches, flame cutters, and other welding tools.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of welding and cutting procedures.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and production targets.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
