We are seeking a highly capable Workshop Operation Manager (Engineering) to oversee the internal operations of our heavy machinery repair workshop. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of engineering repair jobs (e.g. heavy machinery equipments, excavators, bulldozers, cranes, etc), while managing manpower performance, workshop processes, and cost controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Job Planning & Execution
- Oversee daily repair job execution, ensuring timely delivery with minimum critical errors.
- Delegate tasks efficiently to departments such as welding, CNC machining, turning, milling, hardening, and more.
- Monitor job progress and troubleshoot any delays or quality issues.
- Ensure proper usage of job order documentation before commencement.
- Ensure SOPs and best practices are consistently followed across repair operations.
- Conduct checks on workmanship quality, alignment tolerances, and part integrity before job delivery.
- Continuously improve operational workflows to reduce rework and increase efficiency.
- Monitor consumables, spare parts, and critical stock levels to avoid shortages.
- Liaise closely with company’s project manager and management
Manpower & Team Management
- Supervise and coordinate foremen, technicians, and production assistants on job execution.
- Conduct on-the-job training and performance reviews for workshop staffs.
- Promote a culture of discipline, safety, productivity, and accountability among the workshop team.
- Manage attendance, overtime justification, and overall labour deployment.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations.
Requirements
- NITEC / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Min. 3 years in engineering repair or workshop operations, with 1+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Strong understanding of repair processes: welding, machining, turning, CNC, and hardening.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and improve staff performance.
- Strong planning and delegation abilities to manage multiple jobs concurrently.
- Able to communicate in English and Mandarin (to liaise with Chinese-speaking technicians)

Pay: $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
