Job Family Definition:
The Aruba Deal Desk / Pricing Team is the frontline engagement between the Field teams (Sales & Management) and the Sales Operations organization. This position will act as a point of escalation for the APJ pricing team and Field Sales Management.
The role will heavily focus on pricing analysis on high-touch, strategic deals, along with very high level of interaction with the Sales and Pricing organizations. The analyst will need to become familiar and fluent in all internal sales tools, processes and practices in order to provide exemplary sales support and pricing related guidance. This position will also require that the analyst engages heavily with the extended pricing team, offering guidance and working to ensure the individual team member develop and progress their pricing analytics.
Management Level Definition:
Applies high level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze pricing requests within APJ, provide guidance and negotiate with the sales team/pricing team to reach final pricing agreement.
- Evaluate pricing requests to ensure completeness, pricing accuracy, risk mitigation for any non-standard terms and conditions, and compliance with sales and pricing policies
- Collaborate with extended teams to accurately assess and price cross-portfolio deals
- Engaged with Country Manager, Category Manager and APJ Sales VP on deal pricing, ensuring deals are aligned with pricing strategy in terms of discount and margin.
- Driving complex deal escalations for WW approvals, as well as managing cos relief
- Deal reporting, analysis and ad-hoc pricing project.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent
- Typically 4-5 years experience in Pricing Role
Knowledge and Skills:
- A strong business mindset is key, with a ‘run to the fire’ attitude and driving an action-oriented culture. Good understanding of business and sales processes and practices.
- The ideal candidate will be analytically minded; a decisive problem solver; meticulous; organized & driven; self-starter; have strong communication skills; passion & pride in their work; flexibility to adjust to requirements and ability operate in a dynamic and fast changing environment.
- Experience designing and implementing policies, processes, and tools to provide operations support for sales activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mastery in English and local language.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of stakeholders.
- Well verse in Microsoft excel.
- Well verse with HPE Pricing and Quoting tools, e.g. SFDC, NGQ, Eclipse, Deal UI, MAST, PPRT, etc.
