Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, quality standards, and portion control guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet customer orders and service demands.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries of ingredients and supplies.
- Monitor food stock and report shortages to the Head Chef/Manager.
- Adhere to food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in menu development and suggest improvements when required.
- Handle equipment safely and report any faults or issues immediately.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook, Kitchen Assistant, or similar role (restaurant experience preferred).
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain food quality and consistency.
- Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and time management.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (WSQ Food Hygiene certification preferred).
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle kitchen demands.
- WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred, or willing to obtain).
