TerraPay is seeking a visionary and execution-focused leader to architect and scale our global Collections Infrastructure, with a primary focus on Asia. This director-level role is ideal for a seasoned payments professional with deep expertise in cross-border collections, strong commercial instincts, and a robust network across PSPs, acquiring banks, and infrastructure providers.
You will lead the end-to-end buildout of our collections capabilities—designing scalable, compliant, and merchant-centric solutions that complement our core payouts business. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a strategic growth pillar from the ground up.
Requirements
How you will create impact:
1. Strategy & Market Expansion
- Define and drive the roadmap for building a resilient cross-border collections network across Asia and other priority markets.
- Identify corridors where collections infrastructure can unlock pricing, liquidity, or strategic advantage for TerraPay’s payouts engine.
- Translate market insights into clear roadmap and execution plan.
2. Partner Sourcing & Relationship Management
- Source and onboard collections partners—PSPs, acquirers, banks, and aggregators.
- Lead commercial negotiations and define integration models (e.g., virtual accounts, settlement cycles, pricing structures).
- Cultivate strategic relationships with ecosystem players in FinTech.
3. Product & Capability Building
- Collaborate with product, tech, compliance, and treasury teams to define workflows across onboarding, KYC, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Ensure regulatory alignment and operational readiness across diverse markets.
- Own the delivery of MVP and scale-up phases, balancing speed with compliance and merchant experience.
4. Merchant-Centric
- Deeply understand merchant behavior and pain points in local collections and cross-border settlements.
- Shape product packaging and positioning to optimize for liquidity, cost efficiency, speed, and regulatory clarity
5. Internal Enablement
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on collections.
- Enable sales, product, and treasury teams through training, documentation, and strategic guidance.
- Represent TerraPay in industry forums and partner engagements as a thought leader in collections innovation.
Essential qualifications:
- 10–12 years in payments, with at least 5 years focused on collections infrastructure across Asia.
- Proven success in building partnerships and solutions with PSPs, merchant acquirers, or global fintech's.
- Strong grasp of merchant liquidity models, float management, and regulatory frameworks for cross-border collections.
- Demonstrated ability to launch new products or business lines in startup or high-growth environments.
- Commercially savvy with strong negotiation skills and stakeholder management experience.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive alignment across teams.
