Your Role
The Senior/ EHS Manager to implement Corporate EHS guidelines, strategies, and processes, and relevant local regulatory requirements including applicable international and industry standards.
Responsibilities
EHS
- Support the Managing Director by collaborating with Brenntag corporate and regional QSHE to communicate and ensure Brenntag Corporate QSHE strategy, guidelines and process safety standards are understood and implemented on all sites and providing sound EHS management advice.
- Design, develop and execute long and short-term plans for implementation.
- Ensure the guidelines are adhered to, with understanding and know-how by internal and external stakeholders.
- Report any EHS non-conformance, non-compliance and incidents to local Managing Director and APAC QSHE Director.
- Manage EHS related non-conformance, non-compliance, and incidents in collaboration with Corporate QSHE Team.
- Lead, develop and prioritize EHS programs or related projects from conceptualization to implementation to disposal stages.
- This includes closing any gaps, implementing the improvement, and identifying resources (time, people, costs) for executions.
- Take initiatives and proactively work across different functional teams within Brenntag to establish best EHS practices at all sites.
- Manage site EHS and AIPSM performance. Cooperate with Corporate QSHE in all EHS & AIPSM related matters.
- Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards and Responsible Care codes.
- Lead a team to prepare and coordinate different types of audits for the certificate accreditations and internal Brenntag site audits/assessments.
- Manage the EHS competency within the sites and make competency building plans.
- Carry out EHS training and regular communication sessions such as briefing, updates, changes to all stakeholders.
- Conduct audit and inspection for 3PL warehouse.
- Support Commercial Teams with EHS advisory for new products classified as DG.
- Manage the EHS performance at all sites through annual goal setting and EHS objectives.
- Responsible for leading and developing the EHS team and managing their work performance.
- Assume the role as a Fire Safety Manager (FSM).
- Recommend EHS management systems improvement measures.
- Comply with management systems practices.
- To follow the company’s procedures, safety rules and measures stated in the WSH Risk Assessment.
- Not to engage in any unsafe or negligent act that may endanger yourself or others working around you.
- Use of personal protective equipment provided, to ensure safety while working.
- The responsibilities to participate in protecting the environment, preventing pollution, complying with applicable requirements as identified in the policy statements and promoting sustainable practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Legal and Compliance
- Liaison personnel for external interfaces e.g. with government agencies, to ensure licenses, permits, certificates and statutory examinations are maintained and renewed in timely manner. E.g. Emergency Response Plan, Transport Emergency Response Plan, etc.
- License/Certificate holder responsible for stipulated duties accordingly e.g. Fire Safety Manager, Workplace Safety and Health officer, etc.
- Organize, manage and coordinate table-top exercises, drills, exercises for emergency preparedness and response and business continuity plans.
- Familiar with and support site Safe Management Measures (SMM) to implement safe management measures at all sites.
- Facilitate and conduct EHS committee meetings at sites.
- Familiar with the requirements of bizSAFE level 5 risk management and conduct risk assessment and maintain the risk management including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for the company.
- Organize and coordinate site safety, health & environment inspections e.g. leadership preventive site walks and routine site walks and manage the implementation of preventive and corrective measures.
- Capable of conducting root cause analysis incident investigation with ALARP recommendations in a formal written report.
- Experience in Singapore Safety Case regime.
- Familiar with and implement relevant international and Singapore standards, codes and best practices e.g. API, ASME, IEC, GHS, IMDG, NFPA for all sites.
- Ensure sites are complied with applicable EHS laws and relevant requirements including identification, evaluation and training EHS requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible for maintaining the EHS Legal Register for all sites.

- On-hold activities that will/ are likely to create hazard.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement
- Minimum a Degree in Workplace Safety and Health
- Minimum 10 years/ and above of Safety working experience. Adaptable to changes and has passion in EHS.
- Ability to inspire/influence and spearhead new initiatives and changes.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good team player.
- Good planning, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Good people management and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft office.
