Purpose of the Job
Responsible for warranty support, additional projects and services. Collaborates with sales, service, engineering, and technical support to ensure projects are completed successfully. To perform commissioning activities and accept electrical systems into service completing pre and post checks, developing test schedules and Quality Control records for container handling equipment. Testing and tuning of equipment, load shedding and network control systems. Conduct initial drive runs. Plan stepwise commissioning details according to the overall procedure and instruct commissioning crews and or subcontractor for the necessary action.
Job Content and Context
1. Implementation of tasks assigned by Project Manager
2. Coordinates closely with Project Manager by communicating project status and success metrics.
3. Maintain follow up with the customer to provide additional information or to resolve problems.
4. Assist with the commissioning of new equipment into service. Ensure that equipment is operating according to specifications.
5. Obtain and adhere to testing and commissioning plan for container handling equipment.
6. Obtain commissioning plans to integrate and verify Drive, PLC and control system and sub-systems in accordance with compliance matrices.
7. Adhere to accepted Drive and PLC, automation system standards design. Seek operational data and operations-based feedback, provide comprehensive and useful documentation and assures the availability of adequate spares for efficient warranty support.
8. Supervising the technicians to carry out the job according to the work procedure.
9. Train and mentor technicians in the Drive and PLC, automation and control system to assure systems and equipment perform to expectations.
10. Repair and resets/adjustments are carried out, mindful of effects on, or unnecessary loss of, other equipment.
11. Diagnoses Drive and PLC, control system fault at 24 hours on-call basis.
12. Provide and maintain detailed Electrical, Drive and PLC, control system, automation system documentation on new design and modifications including engineering change notices to assure documentation is available when needed.
13. Occupational Health and Safety standards, statutory requirements, relevant codes of practice, manufacturers' specifications, environmental requirements and enterprise procedures are identified and monitored throughout the work procedure.
