We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Finance Director to lead our finance function and be a key driver of our company's financial health and strategic growth. This role will oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can partner with department heads to provide data-driven insights, improve operational efficiency, and support critical business decisions. This is a high-impact role with significant visibility to senior leadership and the board.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Partner with the executive team to develop and execute the company's financial strategy and long-term business plans.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, modeling, and recommendations on strategic initiatives, including new market entry, product launches, and potential M&A.
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
- Serve as a key business partner to department heads (Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.), providing financial guidance and helping them manage their budgets effectively.
Financial Operations & Reporting:
- Oversee the entire accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Develop and maintain a robust set of key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track business performance and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, cash forecasting, and working capital to optimize liquidity.
Compliance & Controls:
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and tax filings.
- Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks across the organization.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and business partnership within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role (e.g., Finance Director, Senior Finance Manager, or Controller).
- Strong technical accounting skills and thorough knowledge of local regulations.
- Proven experience leading the financial close, audit, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
