MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily operation and maintenance tasks on Fixed transmission network, IP network and associated equipment.
- Perform system configuration, integration and acceptance testing in support of network expansion initiatives.
- Diagnose and resolve network faults across Layers 1 to 3, including on-site fault rectification and system recovery.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors and internal stakeholders to support operational and project related activities.
- Conduct system fault analysis and take proactive measures to minimize system outage and recurrence.
- Assist Team Lead in managing day-to-day operational activities and handling of urgent escalated matters.
- Review feedback on operation issues and prepare system fault investigation findings and reports.
- Conduct site safety continual assessment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide technical support to field engineers or workaround solution to rectify Fixed / IP network faults.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management.
- Perform 24x7 standby duty for network faults after office hours on a rotational basis. Qualifications
- Possess a ITE/ Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
- Must possess a valid Class 3 manual (gear) driving license
- Strong understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS technologies.
- Hands-on experience with the configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and firewalls is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with optical fiber testing tools (OTDR, power meter) and Ethernet testers
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure
