We're Hiring: Baker (Full-Time)
We're looking for a passionate and self-motivated Baker to join our team at our sourdough-forward bakery specializing in laminated pastries. If you're hardworking, eager to learn under an experienced Head Baker, and excited to grow in a fast-paced kitchen — we’d love to meet you!
Location: CHIJMES
Schedule: 5-day work week | 46 hours/week (incl. breaks)
️ Perks: Daily staff meals
Availability: Weekends and Public Holidays required
Shift Start: 7:00 AM (2 shifts available)
Job Scope:
- Daily preparation and baking of laminated pastries using our house sourdough starter
- Mixing, folding, and shaping doughs according to our established processes
- Monitoring proofing and baking schedules to ensure product consistency
- Assisting with mise en place and kitchen prep tasks
- Supporting the Head Baker in day-to-day operations and recipe development
- Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards at all times
- Cleaning workstations, equipment, and bakery space regularly
- Receiving and organizing inventory and ingredient deliveries
- Adapting to seasonal menu changes and new product launches
✅ Requirements:
- Formal training in baking/pastry OR relevant on-the-job bakery experience
- Keen interest in laminated doughs and sourdough-based baking
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a sense of responsibility
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and improve with guidance
- Able to work early morning shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
- Team player with good communication skills
- Punctual, dependable, and able to follow production schedules
