As a Lead Opto-Mechanical Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in the design and integration of high-precision laser and electro-optics systems for advanced defence applications. You'll collaborate with cross-disciplinary experts to ensure robust, reliable, and field-ready systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design and development of opto-mechanical subsystems including mounts, housings, thermal components, and vibration isolation structures
- Conduct tolerance, thermal, and structural simulations to ensure system stability
- Oversee precision alignment, assembly, and ruggedisation of prototypes
- Support system testing for environmental durability and field deployment
- Work closely with optics, electronics, and systems teams to meet operational requirements
- Maintain detailed engineering documentation and compliance with industry standards
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in opto-mechanical design (defence, aerospace, or photonics preferred)
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks/Creo) and FEA tools (ANSYS, COMSOL)
- Strong knowledge of optical alignment, thermal management, and vibration control
- Hands-on experience in optical system integration is a major advantage
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Able to support field testing and deployment when needed
