Role Overview
Join a close-knit, collaborative legal team supporting dynamic operations in the energy and logistics sectors—where trust and strong working relationships are at the heart of the culture. In this role, you’ll provide legal support across multiple business units, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and leading contract negotiations throughout the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with commercial teams and the global tender unit to draft, review, and negotiate tenders and commercial agreements.
- Develop and manage contract templates and terms and conditions tailored to sector-specific operations.
- Provide legal advice in customer negotiations, balancing commercial goals with legal risk.
- Advise on risk mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with internal policies and corporate mandates.
- Manage legal disputes, liaise with external counsel, and represent the company in dealings with courts, agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor across a range of legal matters—from ad hoc queries to complex, long-term projects.
- Support M&A initiatives and market expansion projects, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, including arbitration and cross-border frameworks. Work closely with compliance teams to maintain consistent application of group policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Legally qualified professional (bar admission not mandatory) with experience in contract negotiation, administration, and legal advisory—whether in-house or in private practice.
- Strong foundation in contract law and familiarity with legal frameworks across the APAC region, with an appreciation for corporate governance and company secretarial practices.
- 3–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within shipping, energy (oil & gas or renewables), or complex industrial projects.
- Knowledge of English/common law systems and arbitration frameworks in relevant APAC jurisdictions is an advantage. Experience in shipping, offshore, or energy-related industries will be viewed favorably.
