Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for managing day to day lifting operations.
- Independently able to prepare and design a Lift Plan based on legal requirements, industry best practices and site conditions and thereafter, follow through with the physical lifting operations.
- at anyone who is required to plan safe systems of work, using lifting equipment and intends to take up this position as an appointed person. It is recommended that prior to individuals should have some experience of working with lifting equipment, especially mobile cranes, and tower cranes etc.
- Permit to Work System and EHS Controlled & Responsible.
- Incident Investigation & Propose Corrective action.
- Weekly crawler crane Boom down inspection with CAG, check crane condition, wire rope, mast, crawler track, Load chart, lifting plan, most of the Lifting activity monitoring & supervision, record keeping, maintenance checking, LG and LM validation, data logger records.
- Monthly equipment checks prior issue of the monthly tags for usage of machinery on site,
- Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture and to equip with an in depth understanding of the roles and responsibility of the Appointed Person and will enable to prepare and implement safety system of work for lifting operation.
- Conduct/coordinate lifting operation in the area such as safety rules and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
- Perform safety audits and inspect LGs, LMs, lifting machinery validity, insurance, and safety equipment to ensure safety rules and regulations are complying.
- Investigate crane accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities.
- Coordinate lifting plan programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long-term strategic safety planning and development.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to Lifting Crew’s safety initiatives and necessary changes.
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Other ad hoc duties as per assigned.
Requirements:
- At least an engineering diploma holder with 5 years of Lifting Engineer experience .
- Attained IES/SHETC Appointed Person for Lifting Operation certification is mandatory for this position
- Experience in LTA Rail projects with hands-on in required submission matters will be added advantage
- Be dynamic, self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a proven track record in the construction industry.
- Other pre-requisites are excellent team spirit, strong technical competence, good interpersonal skills and with a “can-do” attitude.
- Assumed knowledge of rigging, signalling and lifting experience
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong safety innovation and creative skills and mind.
- Ability to lead and supervise Lifting Team and provide supervision, suggestions and/or instructions to all Lifting Team Safety staff.
- Good knowledge of government regulations relating to Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental areas.
- Excellent English communication and written skill
- Must be able to work under pressure.
