Job Description
- Material Procurement:
Identify and source required materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects.
Ensure materials meet quality and compliance standards as per project specifications. - Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate terms, prices, delivery schedules, and contracts. - Purchase Orders (PO):
Prepare and issue POs.
Monitor and track order status, delivery timelines, and receipts. - Cost Control:
Ensure procurement stays within budget.
Track cost savings and negotiate for better pricing or discounts. - Inventory Coordination:
Coordinate with site managers or storekeepers to manage inventory levels.
Avoid overstocking or delays due to material shortages. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Provide regular reports to project managers or finance departments. - Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Ensure health and safety standards are met through certified suppliers.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years in the construction industry.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with construction materials, technical specifications, and local suppliers.
- Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Excel).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
