Introduction:

As a Robotics and Automation Specialist in our Digital Manufacturing team, you will report to the Digital Strategy Manager and play a key role in shaping the future of smart manufacturing. You will identify robotics-enabled automation opportunities in the Fabs and facilities, partner with vendors to design and integrate robotic solutions, develop robotic control programs and robotic maintenance practice. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and technology partners to help transform our manufacturing capabilities through innovation and intelligent automation.

Your Role

You are passionate about robotics and automation, with a strong foundation in industrial control systems and a hands-on approach to solving complex manufacturing challenges. You will:

  • Assess current robotics deployment, identify and prioritize cross-Fabs automation opportunities.
  • Discuss with stakeholders to clearly understand their needs, problem statements, constraints and expectations related to leveraging automation and robotics to optimize business processes
  • Integrate the latest automation technologies and trends, and formulate a coherent smart robotic and automation roadmap
  • Screen and select vendors/partners to deliver automation and robotics capabilities and solutions
  • Partner with IT, solution providers and Fabs to design and integrate robotic systems, including specifying hardware and software components, and ensuring seamless interaction with existing core manufacturing systems, processes, and AI solutions / workflows
  • Project-manage solution deployment including planning, budgeting and business impact assessment and tracking
  • Develop and implement robotics troubleshooting and maintenance practice

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, automation, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in robotics and industrial automation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of robotics concepts including capability assessment, programming and control, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Proven experience in AI/Machine Learning applied to robotics, advanced multi-robot coordination, or path planning
  • Experience with software systems integration, architecture, communication protocols, and networked systems.
  • Business acumen related to industrial robotics applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to smart factory technologies and Industry 4.0 frameworks.
  • Experience working with collaborative robots (cobots) and mobile robotic systems (AGVs/AMRs).
  • Advanced degree in robotics, automation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and cloud-based automation platforms.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., RoboDK, Process Simulate) and digital twin technologies.
