Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments at LTA and SMRT project sites.
- Monitor site activities to ensure workers and subcontractors comply with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, Method Statements, and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Investigate and report on all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices , and follow up with corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely safety documentation and reports (RA, SWP, Incident Reports, Monthly Safety Reports) to LTA/SMRT.
- Oversee and maintain all safety documentation and ISO-related requirements across projects.
- Conduct internal safety trainings for staff and supervisors, in addition to toolbox meetings and safety inductions at project sites.
- Ensure all checklists, templates, and safety forms are updated and used consistently across projects.
- Lead and guide the safety team, ensuring discipline and a strict but fair approach to compliance.
- Liaise with LTA, SMRT, and MOM officers during inspections and audits.
- Support the Site Manager in developing a proactive safety-first culture at all project sites.
- Maintain readiness to work under pressure and meet high client and regulatory standards .
Requirements
- Diploma / NITEC in Workplace Safety and Health or related discipline.
- Registered WSH Officer (WSHO) with MOM (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in rail engineering, construction, or similar industries.
- Familiar with LTA and SMRT safety regulations, PTW systems, and audit requirements .
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, documentation, and audit processes .
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken) — able to prepare clear, detailed, and professional safety reports and correspondence.
- Strong documentation and administrative skills to handle safety submissions to clients and authorities.
- Firm, disciplined, and proactive leader with the ability to handle a team effectively.
- Experience in conducting internal safety trainings and awareness programs.
- Possess checklists, templates, and systems to ensure site safety compliance.
- Able to work under stress, multitask, and meet high safety and quality standards .
- Good communication and leadership skills to engage workers and subcontractors.
- Willing to work on rotating shifts, weekends, or night works if required.
