The Senior Associate plays a key role in supporting the operational and administrative functions of trade finance activities for Global Trade Finance Department. This role focuses on transaction processing, documentation management, compliance support, and internal coordination to ensure smooth execution and governance of trade finance operations.
Job Responsibilities
Trade Management & Governance
- Contribute to the execution and administration of trade finance transactions
- Assist in delivering superior customer service and achieving operational excellence
- Execute and administer trade finance transactions, ensuring full accuracy and timeliness in processing
- Manage documentation and records related to trade finance operations, including credit agreements and compliance materials etc.
- Support KYC related and transaction screening processes to meet regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with internal departments such as legal, compliance, treasury and operations to facilitate transaction flow and resolve operational issues
- Monitor transaction status and follow up on outstanding items to ensure completion
- Assist in preparing internal reports and maintaining operational databases
- Respond to client and internal inquiries related to trade finance services with professionalism and efficiency
- Contribute to continuous improvement of operational workflows and internal controls
- Perform other administrative and support duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in trade finance, preferably with exposure to Financial Institution (FI) clients and middle office functions
- Solid understanding of trade finance products, market trends, and regulatory requirements in the APAC region
- Strong coordination and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and regions
- Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience in supporting sales initiatives by optimizing FI and corporate credit limits to drive revenue growth
- Familiarity with KYC processes and transaction screening for FI-driven loans and secondary trade finance transactions
- Skilled in handling customer service requests and internal processes related to trade finance
- Capable of originating potential deals in collaboration with Marketing Managers
- Commitment to delivering high-quality client service and supporting internal business functions related to SCF products and services
- Flexibility to perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
