Job Description:
The Senior Commodity Trader will be responsible for executing and managing proprietary and client-driven trades across energy commodities, including crude oil, refined products, and LNG. The role requires strong analytical and commercial skills to generate trading ideas, manage market exposure, and contribute to overall P&L performance. The candidate will also engage in market analysis, client interactions, and risk management to support trading activities across global markets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Execute trading strategies for physical and derivative commodities across global markets.
- Monitor market trends, price movements, and news to identify and capture trading opportunities.
- Conduct fundamental and technical analysis to support trading decisions.
- Structure and price customized commodity hedging solutions for clients.
- Manage open positions, monitor risk, and ensure compliance with internal trading and risk limits.
- Liaise with counterparties, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth trade execution and settlement.
- Prepare regular reports on trading performance, market trends, and risk exposures.
- Collaborate with internal teams including risk, finance, and operations to ensure alignment across functions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5–8 years of trading experience in commodities, preferably in crude oil, LNG, or refined products.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets, financial derivatives, and trading strategies.
- Experience in both paper and physical trading preferred.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
