Senior Director – Finance Systems Development - APAC
DP World is seeking for a Senior Director for Finance Systems Development for APAC region. In this role, the ideal candidate will be leading operational finance systems development in line with Air and Ocean strategy. The role will also be looking at process design and improvement in collaboration with IT.
Key Accountabilities
Leadership in Operational Finance Systems Development
- Lead the end-to-end development, implementation, and optimization of operational finance systems in line with Air and Ocean strategy.
- Ensure seamless integration of finance systems across air and ocean freight operations.
Process Design & Improvement
- Design and document efficient finance processes leveraging technology to drive productivity gains.
- Establish best practice guidelines, policies, and work instructions for all operational finance activities.
Collaboration with IT
- Partner with IT teams to translate business requirements into innovative finance solutions.
- Engage throughout the system development lifecycle—from requirements gathering through deployment and post go -live support.
Technology Integration
- Oversee integration of finance systems with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Operational Reporting applications to streamline workflows.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies that enhance financial operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with finance, IT, and operations stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure systems and processes meet the unique needs of air and ocean freight teams.
- Coordinate with country Operational Control resources to drive initiative rollout and performance.
Budget Management
- Plan and manage budgets, resources, and timelines for finance systems and solutions projects.
- Deliver initiatives on time and within budgetary constraints.
Finance Rules & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with local financial regulations and corporate finance policies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update systems/processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Foster a culture of innovation by promoting new technologies and methodologies within finance teams.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to refine operational finance processes.
Performance Monitoring
- Define and track metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of finance operations.
- Analyze performance data to guide decision making and improvement initiatives.
- Partner with country operations management to monitor Operational Control team performance.
Reporting & Analytics
- Collaborate on the design and enhancement of finance reporting tools, dashboards, and real time analytics.
- Provide insights into financial performance to support strategic planning.
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver training programs and materials to upskill operational teams in finance systems and processes.
- Promote professional growth and lifelong learning within the team
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Tertiary/Diploma/Bachelor Degree or equivalent
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation or equivalent
- Experience in Finance systems development will be ideal with project management skillsets
