Job Description
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure for government and commercial projects. You will lead DevOps initiatives, ensure compliance with government standards, and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments.
Use Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to automate and manage cloud resources.
Ensure compliance with government security standards and frameworks (e.g., IM8, GovTech Singapore guidelines).
DevOps Practices:
Lead the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using SHIP-HATS (Singapore Government’s DevOps platform) or similar tools.
Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications in cloud environments.
Implement and manage containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices architecture.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to government security policies, including data protection and access control.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to maintain compliance with GCC and GovTech standards.
Mentorship and Upskilling:
Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to upskill the team on AWS, Terraform, SHIP-HATS, and other relevant technologies.
Provide technical leadership and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality solutions.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, security teams, and government stakeholders, to deliver robust solutions.
Act as a technical advisor to project managers and senior leadership.
Innovation and Best Practices:
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and government frameworks.
Drive the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, software development, or system administration.
- Experince working with GCC 1.0 and GCC 2.0.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in operating systems like Linux and Windows.
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab).
- Strong expertise in container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
Skills:
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Shell.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of DevOps tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SonarQube.
Additional:
- Experience with self-hosted open-source services is preferred.
