We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled sourcing professional to fill a combined role of Supplier Development and Regional Purchasing Manager, leading strategic suipplier development for IC's and oversee a team of regional Buyers in Singapore. This pivotal role combines supplier relationship management with an oversight of operational purchasing.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with key manufacturers, gaining critical industry insights to support Sales and Sourcing team. The candidate will manage purchasing activities, ensuring effective execution of requisitions to maximise conversion rates and customer fulfillment
Strategic Supplier Engagement
- Establish and nuture relationships with strategic suppliers, including franchise distributors to secure access to critical product and industry insights.
- Negotiate and collaborate to enhance supplier performance and alignment with business goals.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track and share insights on parts availability, costs and market pricing trends and industry developments through weekly and monthly reports
- Serve as a global subject matter expert for assigned parts and manufacturers.
Identify and Drive Proactive Sales Opportunities
- Analyze parts availability and pricing against historical customer demand and BOMs then provide Sales with proactive opportunities (daily / weekly).
- Partner with Sales and Buyers by offering guidance on customer pricing strategies and driving consistent sales growth for key suppliers
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly and monthly market reports for assigned products and manufacturers.
Operational Leadership & Buyer Management
- Establish and set clear expectations for assigned regional Buyers
- Oversee and support assigned Buyers, ensuring effective requisition execution and optimization of “Hit Rate”.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, resolve escalations, manage workloads and ensure compliance with SOPs and systems
Training & Development
- Provide training and coaching on Rand system, procurement tools, supplier capabilities, knowledge of commodities and market dynamics (pricing, lead time etc.)
- Foster continuous improvement through regular feedback, performance monitoring and skills development.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Sourcing and Commodity teams to align strategies, set realistic expectations and deliver optimal pricing and fulfillment solutions.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Minimum of 5 years of similar experience in the electronic components industry is preferred.
- Proven expertise and relationships with suppliers and franchise distributors.
- In-depth knowledge of parts and manufacturers, including but not limited to Texas Instruments (TI), Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), On Semi, ST Microelectronics, Broadcom (BCM), and other board level IC’s / semiconductors and Passives.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to synthesize market information into actionable strategies, market reports, and internal training materials.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required to support effective communication in a global context.
