Position: Tax Manager
The opening is for a tax lead role in a large organisation with overseas businesses - where the successful candidate is expected to be a guide and good communicator - working closely with top management, including with colleagues in the various departments such as operations, finance and legal.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations, including transfer pricing requirements
- Oversee the timely review and submission of corporate tax and indirect tax returns in collaboration with the Finance team
- Develop strategies to mitigate tax risks
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for intra-group transactions to support transfer pricing compliance
- Review business arrangements to ensure consistency with established transfer pricing policies
- Manage tax reporting activities, including tax provisions, deferred tax assets and liabilities, and annual tax disclosures
- Establish and maintain a centralized database to support tax reporting
- Provide tax advisory on business transactions, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, intercompany dealings, and employee-related tax matters
- Support the preparation and submission of applications for tax incentives and government grants
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate their potential impact on the operations
- Lead initiatives to enhance tax-related processes, systems, and internal controls
- Conduct tax knowledge-sharing sessions and training programs for Finance teams
- Assist in the implementation of tax policies, governance frameworks, and best practices across the Group Contribute to ad-hoc tax-related projects and assignments as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or relevant degree and/or a relevant professional qualification
- Minimum 8 years of combined tax practice experience within a Big-Four tax department and large SMEs environment
- Familiar with international taxation
- Strong technical expertise in both direct and indirect taxation and familiarity with transfer pricing concepts
- Solid accounting background and strong analytical skills, with the ability to independently interpret and apply tax regulations
- Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams or work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
