Job Description: Unix Engineer (Banking Operations with OpenShift Expertise)
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Unix Engineer with strong expertise in OpenShift containers and proven banking operations experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of Unix-based platforms while driving containerization initiatives in a highly regulated banking environment. This role involves working closely with infrastructure, operations, and security teams to support mission-critical banking applications.

Key Responsibilities
Unix Engineering & Administration
o Manage, configure, and optimize Unix/Linux environments (RHEL, AIX, or Solaris).
o Perform patching, upgrades, and performance tuning across production and non-production systems.
o Troubleshoot and resolve system-level incidents with minimal downtime.
OpenShift Container Platform
o Deploy, manage, and support Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises or hybrid environments.
o Build and maintain containerized solutions for critical banking applications.
o Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications using CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration tools.
o Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in container environments.
Banking Operations Support
o Provide operational support for core banking systems running on Unix/OpenShift platforms.
o Monitor system health, logs, and privileged access in line with compliance requirements.
o Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to minimize operational risk.
o Ensure alignment with ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management).
Security & Compliance
o Implement and enforce access control, vulnerability management, and log retention policies.
o Support audits, compliance checks, and reporting for regulatory bodies.
o Contribute to business continuity planning (backup, DR, high availability).
Technical Skills
• Platform Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP), including managing day-2 operations like cluster upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Automation: Advanced knowledge of Ansible for automating infrastructure and application tasks.
• Middleware & Integrations: Proficiency with Red Hat's middleware products, such as JBoss EAP, AMQ, and 3scale, as well as an understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Red Hat Build of Keycloak (RHBK).
• Storage & Security: Expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for storage management and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS) for securing container environments.
• Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for custom automation, data manipulation, and administrative tasks.
• Linux Fundamentals: Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including command-line tools and system-level configuration.
• GitOps & CI/CD: Experience with GitOps principles and tools like Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) for multi-cluster management and GitOps workflows.
Certifications
• Certifications preferred: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), OpenShift Administrator (EX280), or equivalent.
