Key Responsibilities:
Application Development:
- Design, develop, and deploy Workday Extend applications tailored to business requirements.
- Build reusable and modular components in alignment with Workday best practices and security standards.
Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze functional and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
Integration & Connectivity:
- Integrate Extend applications with Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Financials) and external systems using Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).
- Partner with integration teams to ensure seamless end-to-end data flow and process automation.
Testing & Deployment:
- Conduct unit, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Support deployment processes, including production migration and post-deployment validation.
Monitoring & Support:
- Monitor application performance and ensure timely maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Investigate and resolve issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about Workday’s latest features and Extend capabilities.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve performance, usability, and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience with Workday, including:
- Workday Extend application development
- Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, and other integration tools
- Proficiency in XML, XSLT, JSON, and REST/SOAP APIs
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and secure coding practices
- Proven ability to design scalable technical solutions from business requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and business audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday certifications (Extend, Integration, or Studio)
- Experience with Workday HCM and/or Financials configuration and security
- Familiarity with Workday Reporting and calculated fields
- Exposure to Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Experience using JIRA, ServiceNow, or other ticketing/development tools
