Active Aging Program and Café Assistant Manager / Supervisor
The manager will be responsible for overseeing & managing the operations of the following:
- Café Kawan in which Active Ageing (AA) Programs are conducted
- Planning & delivery of Active Ageing Programs both in the café & outdoors in collaboration with the Active Ageing Centre’s team
- Managing ComSA Club members & volunteers to create a welcoming & educational environment that encourages customers, especially seniors, to make informed choices for their well-being.
This role requires a strong passion for Active Ageing (AA) programming for wellness, preventive health, & exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. AA Program Development & Delivery
- Lead the design, planning, & execution of Active Ageing programs, ensuring alignment with the needs & models of the AAC (Care) framework
- Collaborate closely with the AAC (Care) Manager to ensure that Café Kawan programs are relevant & accessible to AAC clients across Singapore
2. Café Kawan Ops Management
- Oversee daily ops, including program scheduling, preparation, inventory control, & resource allocation (staff & volunteers).
- Supervise, train, & support café & program staff, as well as volunteers, to ensure high-quality service program delivery, & operational efficiency
- Ensure a welcoming & positive experience for clients visiting Café Kawan
- Ensure all café operations meet food safety, health, & elder care regulations
3. Strategic Planning & Expansion
- Planning & delivery of Active Ageing Programs both in the café & outdoors in collaboration with the Active Ageing Centre’s team
4. Program Evaluation & Growth
- Monitor & evaluate program outcomes & impact, making data-informed adjustments as needed
- Cultivate partnerships with local business, community organisations, & stakeholders to support program sustainability & expansion
- Empower seniors to take active roles in leadership through ComSA Club participation
- Promote a culture of self-reliance, independence, & peer support among seniors
5. Customer Engagement & Preventive Health Education
- Create a welcoming environment that encourages dialogue on wellness & preventive health within the community
- Communicate the benefits of wellness-focused & preventive health programs clearly & consistently
- Provide access to resources & guidance on preventive practices (e.g., nutrition, stress management, physical activity, disease prevention), including courses offered thru’ the HMTA Learning Room
6. Community Outreach & Collaboration
- Build & maintain strong relationships with local health & wellness organisations, Community Centres (e.g., AACs, Grassroots), & medical professionals
- Partner with community groups to co-host educational workshops, seminars, & events that promote healthy living
- Represent the Mobile Café at community health fairs & public events to increase visibility & outreach
7. Marketing & Promotion
- Work with the Corporate Relations team to develop & implement marketing strategies that promote Café Kawan’s focus on wellness & preventive health
8. Financial Management
- Develop & manage operating budgets to ensure responsible & effective use of resources.
- Adhere to the Company's financial compliance & transparency
Educational Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Social Science or Public Health is preferred. Experience in managing food services is helpful
Salary: $4.5K-$7K/month
Working hours/days : 8.30am-5.30pm (Mon-Fri), Alternate Sat morning
