About the Role
This role focuses on applying artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics to optimize waste collection, reduce environmental impact, and improve operational efficiency in urban waste systems.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Analytics
- Aggregate and preprocess data
- Design and maintain data pipelines
- Perform statistical analysis and build dashboards
AI & Machine Learning Development
- Develop predictive models
- Test and deploy models on cloud or edge devices
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, sustainability teams and government authorities
- Translate complex data findings into actionable insights
- Participate in pilot programs and public-private collaborations
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Master/Bachelor degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in data analytics or AI/ML roles, ideally within logistics or urban infrastructure
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and tools like Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Experience with data pipeline tools and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS
- Familiarity with geospatial tools and real-time data processing
- Understanding of vehicle routing problems or classification models
- Knowledge of Smart Waste standards or industry-specific IoT systems is advantageous
- Exposure to edge computing or low-power AI deployment preferred but not essential
