BIOMEDICAL AND SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANT
Overview
We are seeking a Biomedical and Sustainability Consultant to integrate sustainable practices into the operation of the company. This role requires a deep understanding of biomedical science, sustainability principles, and environmental regulations.
Job Scope
Conducting Sustainability Assessments
- Evaluating the company’s current environmental impact
- Identify areas for improvement to reduce the company’s carbon footprint
- Analyse data related to energy consumption, waste generation and resource use Guidance on medical technologies, healthcare solution and biomedical research
Developing Sustainability Strategies
- Create tailored plans to reduce environmental impacts
- Improve social responsibility
- Ensure long-term economic viability Work with stakeholders to integrate sustainability principles into business operations, including supply chain management, waste reduction, and energy efficiency
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Staying up to date on environmental regulations and standards
- Advise on how to comply with relevant laws and regulations
- Maintain constant awareness of emerging technologies and proactively assess their impact in biomedical and sustainability fields Drive innovation while balancing risk, cost, and scalability
Promoting Sustainable Practices
- Educating employees on sustainable practices Raising awareness about environmental issues
Biomedical Waste Management
Providing safe and environmentally sound disposal of biomedical waste, including hazardous waste, pharmaceuticals, and medical devicesRisk Management
Identify and mitigate technology-related risks in biomedical and sustainability fieldsGlobal Coordination
Ability to coordinate with international teams and stakeholders across vastly different time zonesNon-Negotiables
- Willingness to travel + to remote sites (e.g., Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka) with minimal amenities
- Tolerance for extended bureaucracy (permits, customs, stakeholder clearances). Availability for overtime during audit cycles (unpaid)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
- Familiar with relevant software and tools
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in biomedical or sustainability role
- Willing to travel overseas for work trips (e.g. Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka)
- Hands-on experiences working in the biomedical or sustainability fields Willingness to work extended hours, including late nights and weekends, to accommodate global operations and in particular, both the Singapore and Papua New Guinea time zones
