Clarksons Futures Limited is the derivatives broking division of Clarkson plc. It operates from the UK and through its branches in Dubai, Geneva and Singapore as a voice broker in OTC cleared derivativescontracts across CME, EEX, ICE and SGX. These derivatives contracts encompass dry and wet forward freight agreements (“FFAs”), and commodity-based derivatives including iron ore, fuel oil, gas, battery metals and carbon credits.

Regulatory Status
Clarksons Futures Limited is subject to authorisation by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”), the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) for the Singapore branch and the US National Futures Authority (“NFA”) as an Introducing Broker for cross-border business with US customers.
Role Summary
As a Broker, you will work closely with your broking team to efficiently arrange derivatives transactions for clients. You will need to be an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills for colleague and client interaction, as well have keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A proactive and willing attitude, together with integrity and professionalism, and an interest in derivates broking are also key.
What you’ll be doing
- Work closely with broking colleagues and clients to support with providing market insights and analysis, and pricing updates in a timely manner.
- Support with the arranging and execution of futures and options trades on behalf of clients.
- Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth.
- Participate and attend all necessary regulatory training.
- Assist the Onboarding team regarding AML/KYC due diligence queries.
- Be responsible for your individual regulatory compliance, and support the team with ensuring they meet this also.
- Attend team meetings to discuss commercial performance.
- Represent the company at industry events and initiatives (e.g. Baltic Exchange etc) and act as an ambassador.
- Be aware of the business strategy for the company and seek to help identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.
- Travel and attend client social events where required. Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
- Previous experience or exposure of commodity or freight derivatives broking or trading is preferred, with at least 5 years’ relevant experience at least.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and derivatives broking is advantageous.
- Strong numeracy skills and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good commercial instinct and negotiation skills.
- Confident and able to work well under pressure.
- Proactive learning mindset. Good MS office skills.
Registration requirements
The role will be subject to you meeting the relevant criteria to be approved or registered (as applicable) by the relevant authority as marked below for the following regulated functions:
- FCA – registration as a Certified Person with the relevant sub-designations
- MAS – registration as a Registered Representative
