Job Description
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the freight forwarding industry
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to acquire new clients
- Generate leads, set appointments and present business proposals to potential customers through various communication channels, including: face to face meetings, telephone calls, emails, etc.
- Manage and maintain pipelines, respond to requests for information in a timely manner and remain proactive and responsive to prospective customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer service
- Analyse market trends, competition and customer needs to identify growth potential
- Contribute to the development of marketing and promotional campaigns
- Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets
Qualifications & experience
- Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in new business development or sales, preferably in the freight forwarding or logistics industry
- Demonstrates a proven track record in global account management, particularly in freight forwarding.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholder groups effectively.
- Has agility and flexibility to adapt to different cultural and business environments, given the role's requirement for extensive travel.
- Brings a strategic mindset to sales, with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the freight forwarding sector.
- Adaptable, shows a strong 'can-do' attitude, able to navigate complex sales environments and drive results, able to work well independently and in a team.
