Job Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the extrusion process and related production activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Set up, start, stop, and troubleshoot the extruder and associated equipment.
- Perform routine patrols of the plant to monitor process conditions and equipment performance.
- Collect and analyze samples to evaluate product quality and process parameters.
- Promptly report any abnormalities in the extrusion process , process deviations, equipment malfunctions, environmental issues, incidents, or near-misses. Participate in investigations when required.
- Support daily maintenance coordination and assist in planned maintenance activities, including shutdowns and start-ups.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on extrusion efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Assist in the training of new technicians.
- Serve as an active member of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT).
- Perform scheduled housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure proper handover and takeover during shift changes. Any other duties as and when required to be done by superior.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or NITEC in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- At least 2 years of working experiences in chemical or polymer manufacturing plant.
- Experience operating polymerization and extrusion unit with automated control systems is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of chemical processes , maintenance practices , and analytical procedures .
- An effective team player with good communication and problem solving skills.
- Willing and able to work on 12-hour rotating shift on Jurong Island.
