Role Overview:
The specialist will oversee project costs, ensuring alignment with budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures. They will generate regular reports, highlight variances, and suggest corrective measures to optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and manage project costs, providing dashboards and monthly reports for management.
- Assist in preparing project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates for new and ongoing initiatives.
- Implement and maintain cost control procedures tailored to each project, ensuring proper cost coding and classification.
- Evaluate the financial impact of project changes and support risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
- Monitor spending on vendors, subcontractors, and internal resources; review invoices and claims for compliance with agreements.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost data and provide documentation for finance and audits.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in cost management or project controls, ideally in energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, contracts, and financial principles.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with cost management software is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach.
