Job Description
Counsellor/Social Worker (ASSW/ASC, Supervisor - FAM Tampines)
Purpose
You will be part of the team to provide casework and counselling services for families, with the goal for families to achieve healthy family functioning, and to deliver divorce support programmes and services to families who are affected by divorce, with the goal for families and their children to achieve stability and self-reliance.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Casework & Counselling
- Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to family-related issues
- Identify and assess risks inherent in low-moderate complex cases by integrating a range of information and screening tools.
- Part of the Intake & Triage Team to conduct intake assessments for new intakesto identify needs, strengths, and risks and make necessary referrals for clients.
Support Programme & Workshops
- Plan, review and facilitate groupwork intervention for parents and children.
- Facilitate premarital and divorce related programmes and workshops to help equip couples and parents with knowledge that enhance relationships and skills to cope with life transitions.
- Facilitate and supervised visitation access of divorcing/ divorced parents with their children and ensuring that the session carries on smoothly and safely for both the parent and children.
Supervisory & Appraisal
- Provide programme, practice/clinical and administrative supervision to Counsellor/Social Worker and/or intern using screening tools and organisational practice framework to guide staff in case assessment and case planning
- Lead and guide counsellor/social worker to case manage and conduct case conference.
- Prepare, review and endorse court reports
- Assess supervisees' capabilities and identify training needs to enhance supervisees' professional growth.
- Conduct quarterly performance appraisal of the Counsellors/ Social workers
Research & Practice
- Co-lead with Senior Counsellor in research to build domain-specific knowledge in the local context
- Demonstrate and contribute to quality practice and professional matters in agency
- Implementation of standard of care, organisational policies and procedures
- Co-lead with the Senior Counsellor in the implementation, facilitation and evaluation of groupwork and programme
- Conduct internal training for team / service point
Network & Advocacy
- Plan and conduct networking and advocacy sessions with partners/stakeholders and in the community
- Advocate for target families, with the aim for families to have access to equal opportunities through collaborative practice with community partners/stakeholders and funders.
Job Requirements
- Master Degree in Counselling OR Bachelor Degree in Social Work (preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling)
- At least 7-10 years of relevant casework / counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop
- Accredited member of SASW and/or clinical member of SAC
- Will need to work half Saturday
Qualifications
Should have Master Degree in Counselling or Bachelor Degree in Social Work /Graduate Diploma in Social Work (preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling), with about 7-10 years of relevant casework / counselling experience and experience as a Practice Supervisor.
