Core Responsibilities
1. Develop, monitor, and manage detailed design project plans, including scope, deliverables, budget, and schedules to support overall project delivery.
2. Lead coordination between architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout all project phases.
3. Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with building codes, safety standards, and statutory requirements.
4. Manage design changes, assess impacts on cost and schedule, and provide solutions to mitigate risks.
5. Facilitate design workshops, client meetings, and approval processes to align stakeholders and resolve design issues.
6. Oversee the quality of design deliverables and ensure they are issued on time for procurement and construction.
7. Implement continuous improvements to the design management process, enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and cost-effectiveness.
8. Support tender documentation, contractor evaluations, and provide technical input during procurement.
9. Any other ad-hoc tasks related to design and construction project management.
Job Skills
1. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders in the construction process.
2. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, BIM platforms).
3. Solid understanding of architectural, structural, and M&E (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) design principles.
4. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and approval processes.
5. Ability to manage design risks, resolve technical issues, and balance design aspirations with budget and constructability.
6. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Degree/Diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in design coordination or project management within the construction industry.
3. Experience in design management for residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects preferred.
