The Engineering Systems & Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the engineering maintenance systems, including SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), technical stores, and document management. This role ensures the efficient execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities, capital project support, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Systems Management
Lead and manage SAP PM system functionalities including Work Order Management, Functional Locations, Maintenance Plans, Task Lists, Instrument Calibration, and Technical Stores.
Act as SAP PM superuser; provide training and support to engineering staff in system usage.
Implement and optimize Time-Based and Performance-Based Maintenance strategies.
Manage Document Management System and digitalization of technical drawings for faster retrieval.
Technical Stores Oversight
Manage and maintain the integrity of the technical store inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and periodic reviews of non-moving items.
Conduct weekly cycle counts and enforce stringent inventory control procedures.
Maintenance & Compliance
Oversee engineering maintenance activities and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Monitor and analyze maintenance performance indices; identify and implement areas for continuous improvement.
Prepare SOPs related to maintenance and engineering operations; ensure periodic reviews and updates.
Plant Shutdown Planning
Lead the planning and execution of yearly plant shutdowns, coordinating with all stakeholders and ensuring contractor compliance with safety, hygiene, and security standards.
Conduct post-shutdown reviews and implement lessons learned for future events.
Training & Development
Conduct onboarding and technical training for new engineering staff on SAP PM and maintenance processes.
Facilitate skills development through competency assessments and tailored development plans.
Project & Budget Management
Manage engineering CAPEX projects from planning through commissioning, collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in engineering maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience as an SAP PM superuser, with expertise in system configuration and user training.
Core Competencies
Strong command of SAP Plant Maintenance and Asset Management systems.
Solid understanding of engineering document and drawing management.
Experienced in technical stores oversight and spare parts inventory control.
