STCC's five joint platforms – Cancer Clinical Trials and Investigational Medicine Units, Cancer Databases and Tissue Banks, Translational Research Integration and Support, Business Intelligence and Development, and Impact and Population Health – provide an enabling research and innovation environment driven to foster translational research and meaningful outcomes for society.
Through collaborative relationships with our partner institutions [comprising of National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), National University Hospital (NUH), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)], and by capitalizing on the strengths of industry and academia, STCC is uniquely poised to develop initiatives that are aligned with Singapore's goals in value-based healthcare innovation and economic value creation.
STCC is a business unit of the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS), and is supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore (NRF) and the Singapore Ministry of Health through the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Office, MOH Holdings Pte Ltd.
What you will be working on
- Design and implement data analysis and integration pipelines to support research projects, ensuring robust quality control and comprehensive scientific reporting
- Curate and harmonise multi-omics datasets from diverse sources, maintaining data integrity
- Assist development and management of databases for clinical and molecular profiling data, with specific focus on cancer genomics
- Monitor and evaluate emerging analytical platforms and technologies, implementing best practices across projects
- Create and deploy interactive web portals and data visualisation applications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure an end-to-end workflow with external organizations
- Serve as technical representative of the team in project meetings and stakeholder communications
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the role and team needs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent relevant discipline
- Strong R/Python programming skills and knowledge of Unix-based systems
- Experience in database management and handling large-scale datasets
- Background in biomedical data analysis and interpretation
- Proven track record of delivering data analytics solutions for scientific projects
- Experience developing web portals and interactive visualisation applications (e.g., R Shiny) will be an advantage
- Knowledge of molecular biology, cancer biology, and tumour immunology will be an advantage
- Personal initiative and ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task and deliver quality work under tight timelines
- Strong analytical mindset with proven problem-solving capabilities
