The Captain is a full-time position that combines operational responsibilities with leadership and team management. In addition to actively participating in the preparation of acai bowls and smoothies, the Captain takes on a leadership role, providing guidance and support to the team members. They serve as a point of contact in the absence of the manager, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare acai bowls and smoothies according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Lead and motivate the team, setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Assist in training new team members on proper preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the manager for restocking needs.
- Handle cash register operations, including opening and closing procedures, and maintain accurate cash handling practices.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve concerns, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating shift rotations, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Collaborate with the manager in implementing and reinforcing operational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a foodservice or similar role, with a strong understanding of acai bowl and smoothie preparation.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
