Main Job Functions:
- Fragrance Analysis:
Analyze and characterize fragrance compositions in a wide range of consumer products using GC/MS and FID instrumentation. Ensure high-quality qualitative and quantitative results to support fragrance development. - Formula Reconstitution:
Perform full fragrance formula reconstitution based on analytical results; lead individual analytical projects and collaborate closely with perfumers to align analytical output with creative and technical goals. - Project Leadership & Communication:
Manage assigned analytical projects independently. Present and discuss findings with perfumers, formulation chemists, and product development teams. - Laboratory Operations:
Support day-to-day laboratory activities including regular maintenance and calibration of GC/MS/FID equipment, ensuring instrument readiness and compliance with lab protocols. - Procurement & Supplies:
Maintain lab stock and manage purchasing of consumables and analytical reagents to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
Requirements:
- Technical Expertise:
Proven hands-on experience in GC/MS/FID analysis within the fragrance or flavor industry.
Proficiency in ChemStation or equivalent data acquisition and processing software.
Solid understanding of fragrance chemistry and analytical reconstitution techniques.
Experience identifying unknown fragrance components and quantifying mixtures. - Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Effective communicator, capable of working closely with creative and technical teams
