UWCSEA Dover has a vacancy for a Freelance Gymnastics Coach [IEC] who is experienced in coaching Recreation and Competitive gymnastics to start in August 2025.
Main Responsibilities
- Ability to coach different levels and ensure that coaching techniques are in accordance to best practices.
- Prepare, plan and deliver technically sound session plans (for Infant, Recreational and Competitive gymnastics groups) primarily WAG.
- Monitor attendance/progress and set individualised plans for training including assisting with periodic physical and skill testing for all gymnasts, as required.
- Support Head of Gymnastics in achieving targets based on annual plans. Through coaching practises.
- Look at every setback during coaching as an opportunity to learn and improve.
- To work with team members to achieve a common goal and improve as a team.
- Optimal usage of the gymnasium and equipment.
- Safe handling of equipment, usage guidelines are adhered to.
- Respond to and follow up any parent enquiries by email and telephone, if needed.
- Attend staff meetings as needed, and set out by Head of Gymnastics.
- Work with the Head of Gymnastics and facilities team in equipment set up in accordance to competition guidelines.
- Assist to ensure meets can be run smoothly.
- Assist in liaising with parent volunteers and student volunteers to provide direction and guidance to their supporting role as needed.
Person Specifications
- Qualified Gymnastics coach with excellent experience in coaching.
- Holding qualification Intermediate/Advance Coach within Singapore Gymnastics accreditation structure (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of experience.
- All-round knowledge of Gymnastics and development requirements pertaining to different a ge groups.
- Adopt an appropriate approach to a ge group training focusing on technical competence, team-building and long-term success.
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills and is able to relate to students, parents and teachers with quality service.
- Able to work cohesively in a team based environment as well as independently with a positive working attitude and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life.
- Able to work during weekends and evenings.
