Job Overview:

As a Gymnastics Coach at Galaxy Gymnastics, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and structured gymnastics classes for students of varying skill levels. You will create a fun and safe learning environment, ensuring students develop fundamental movement skills, strength, and confidence. Your role includes class planning, student assessment, parent communication, and contributing to the overall growth of Galaxy Gymnastics.


Key Responsibilities

1. Class Instruction & Student Development

  • Plan and deliver structured gymnastics lessons based on the Galaxy Gymnastics curriculum.
  • Ensure progressive skill development, focusing on technique, coordination, and physical literacy.
  • Modify drills and activities to cater to different learning styles, keeping classes engaging and inclusive.
  • Promote positive reinforcement, motivating students to achieve their goals.
  • Maintain class discipline and safety while fostering an encouraging atmosphere.
  • Guide students through the Galaxy Gymnastics Awards (GGA) Program, tracking their progress.
  • Implement behavioural management strategies to support student engagement and class cohesion.

2. Student Progress & Evaluations

  • Assess students' skills and provide feedback on their progress.
  • Conduct evaluations every three terms (six months) to determine readiness for the next stage.
  • Recommend students for developmental and competitive pathways where appropriate.
  • Communicate student progress effectively to parents, ensuring transparency and engagement.
  • Utilize technology for tracking progress, maintaining records of student performance.

3. Safety & Risk Managemen t

  • Ensure a safe training environment by following spotting techniques and gym safety protocols.
  • Perform regular equipment checks and report any hazards.
  • Maintain first-aid readiness and respond appropriately to injuries.

4. Parent & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with students and parents, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Provide updates on student development and class activities.
  • Support community events such as showcases, competitions, and holiday camps.
  • Assist in marketing efforts, including social media engagement, trial classes, and promotional events.

5. Professional Growth & Team Collaboration

  • Attend regular team meetings and professional development workshops.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and help refine training methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other coaches to maintain a consistent teaching standard.
  • Stay up to date with gymnastics coaching trends and best practices.
  • Take on mentorship roles by guiding junior coaches and interns.

6. Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate attendance records for all classes.
  • Ensure timely communication with the administration team regarding class management.
  • Assist in event planning for competitions, open houses, and workshops.
  • Utilize digital systems for lesson planning, student tracking, and progress reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Background in gymnastics, sports, or coaching.
  • Relevant Gymnastics coaching certification.
  • NROC (National Registry of Coaches) license is a plus.(or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous experience in coaching recreational and/or competitive gymnastics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for working with children to adults and fostering a love for movement.
  • First-aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Work Commitment and Hours

  • Full-time position
  • Must be available for weekends and occasional evenings to support classes and events.
  • Full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Based in Singapore at Galaxy Gymnastics' facility.
  • Additional earnings opportunities through workshops, camps, and private coaching.
  • Probation period of 6 months with a performance review at the end of the period.
