Job Description
The Senior / Staff Nurse will deliver lectures following the structured curriculum and collaborate with the Nurse Educator to ensure lesson plans meet standards. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment and facilitate critical thinking as part of the teaching and learning process. Conduct various student assessments, monitor progress, and escalate those needing extra support to the Nurse Educator.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
1. Deliver lectures based on the structured teaching curriculum.
2. Review the lesson plan in collaboration with the Nurse Educator to align with the curriculum standards.
3. Create a safe and inclusive learning environment in the classroom.
4. Use interactive and evidence-based teaching methods.
5. Facilitate discussion and scenario- based learning to generate critical thinking and reflection.
6.Conduct student assessment which include case studies and presentations, quiz and competency assessments.
7. Monitor and document learner progress and escalate those who require more support to the Nurse Educator.
8. Emphasize resident-centered care and safety principles when integrating theory with practice.
9. Incorporate simulation-based learning and digital tools (e.g. e-learn programme). Guide students in using clinical software and tools effectively.
Secondary Responsibilities and duties
- Prepare classroom and equipment.
- Facilitate the training logistics such as attendance and training documents in collaboration with the administrative staff.
- Takes on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Nurse Educator.
Qualifications
- Locally Trained Registered Nurse with Diploma in Nursing with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in the acute or community care settings.
- Preferrable to have experience as Clinical Instructor or Preceptor or trainer.
- Registration with Singapore Nursing Board.
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- Able to think on the feet to respond effectively on clinical questions posed by the participants.
- Possesses good inter-personal and supervisory skills
